Jahre zerkratzt [scratched-up years]

By colorful grey on November 16, 2014 5:27 am

Mr. K is back - I got a rack version of the K2000 and really like it. The organ in here is him. I had the chords on Thursday but only did the rest of the song on Saturday night.

JAHRE ZERKRATZT
fenster zerkratzt
die schlüssel der kinder
gibt doch hier eh nichts zu sehn

ich kenne das alles
ich brauch nicht zu gucken
trotzdem starre ich in den regen

ich hab mir alles nochmal überlegt
und ich will wieder zurück zu dir

wir müssen alle jahre nocheinmal durchleben
und diesmal kriegen wir es hin

jahre zerkratzt
krallen der kinder
haben wir eh nie gehabt

ich weiß von gar nichts
muss alles noch lernen
trotzdem starre ich bloß ins leere

SCRATCHED UP YEARS
scratched up windows
children's keys
nothing to see here anyway

i know all of this
i don't need to look at all
still i'm staring into the rain

i thought it all over
and i want back to you

we have to live through all these years
and this time we will get it right

scratched up years
children's claws
never had any of those

i know of nothing
have to learn everything
still i'm just staring into space

I love your stuff in German. I love the constant harmonised voice thing - very effective (am I imagining it?). Nice and simple track, serving the rhythm of the prose.

As you once said to Vince & me: Guy, what's with the German.

Ernsthaft, ich liebe die deutsche Sprache. Your voice is excellent & i really dig the minimal backing.

Simple, elegant and effective. I love the vocals!

sehr schönes runterreduziertes ding. klasse text. großartig!
nicely reduced to its essence. great lyrics.great track!

btw: love that vocal layering.

"das ist doch die geile scheisse" würde mein kumpel dimitrij jetzt sagen wink

Thanks man! I thought the Ableton Erosion effect would go nice with the scratched-up theme... the two vocal tracks are unison for the most part but I tried layering them anyway. Hey I saw you recommended a net label for tate carson... do you know any place that might dig my stuff, too? Thought I'd ask.

Thank you both! I'm happy to hear the vocals are working well.

Not off the top of my head, unfortunately, but I will have a think and a look and see if I find anything!

Much appreciated!

Beautiful vocal, and great understated approach.

I think your stuff would fit perfectly into the [url="www.aerotone.net"]Aerotone netlabel</url>... Sadly it seems to be closed for good. Try Archive.org for some excellent releases
